{"id":3880,"date":"2020-05-19T20:37:51","date_gmt":"2020-05-19T20:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedivinefellowship.com\/?p=3880"},"modified":"2020-05-19T20:38:10","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T20:38:10","slug":"the-art-of-allow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedivinefellowship.com\/the-art-of-allow\/","title":{"rendered":"The Art of Allow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, I did a silly thing.&nbsp; I cleaned my side table next to my chair in the family room.&nbsp; Okay, well, that\u2019s not the silly thing.&nbsp; It was ready to create an avalanche and send books and papers everywhere.&nbsp; So, I went through each piece of paper and discarded some and filed others.&nbsp; When I was done you could actually see the wooden top of the table.&nbsp; It was wonderful to see that again!<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the silly thing.&nbsp; On the table was a book that I had been reading, but lost interest in.&nbsp; I moved it somewhere.&nbsp; I had forgotten that I\u2019d placed an unused gift certificate in it as a bookmark.&nbsp; Now I cannot find the book. And, alas, I cannot find the gift certificate I decided to use today.&nbsp; Sheesh!<\/p>\n<p><span><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"3883\" width=\"345\" data-init-width=\"345\" height=\"280\" data-init-height=\"280\" title=\"The Art of Allow\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/thedivinefellowship.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/The-Art-of-Allow.png\" data-width=\"345\" data-height=\"280\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Not many places a book could be \u2013 I checked the bookshelf.&nbsp; Two other books I was reading are there . . . . not this one.&nbsp; By the bed?&nbsp; Nope.&nbsp; In the front room?&nbsp; Nope.<\/p>\n<p>So, I wait for it to reappear as these things do \u2013 eventually.&nbsp; I\u2019ll keep an eye out.&nbsp; I\u2019ve obviously placed it somewhere where it won\u2019t get lost.&nbsp; Often if I release it and let it go, it will magically appear and I\u2019ll be so surprised to see it.<\/p>\n<p>So it is with disappointments.&nbsp; I thought I wanted that.&nbsp; Then I didn\u2019t.&nbsp; No, wait!&nbsp; I really did want that!&nbsp; Not it\u2019s not here.&nbsp; It\u2019s gone and I\u2019m upset.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, I can apply the same technique and let it go.&nbsp; When the time is right and I\u2019m ready for it a new and better situation\/thing will appear.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to trust the process, because I feel I should be able to make it happen right now!!!&nbsp; Praying about it and letting it go seems, well, not very proactive.&nbsp; My should-er thinks I should do something!&nbsp; When my heart knows it is blessed by waiting.<\/p>\n<p>Wait feels like a 4-letter work.&nbsp; Well, it is, but it need not be a curse.&nbsp; I can let things take their own time.&nbsp; That timing seems to be much better anyway.&nbsp; The key is letting go with an open heart.&nbsp; My want hangs on.&nbsp; My open heart allows.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I get to remind myself over and over to allow.&nbsp; I\u2019ll keep you posted.&nbsp; Maybe I\u2019ll find that book sooner rather than later.&nbsp; We shall see.&nbsp; I will allow the book to be where it is and allow myself space in which to reclaim it.&nbsp;&nbsp; Even though I want it right now!<\/p>\n<p>Allow is an art form unfolding with each new moment. &nbsp;I hereby allow the book and gift certificate to reveal themselves to me in the time in which is right for me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, I did a silly thing.&nbsp; I cleaned my side table next to my chair in the family room.&nbsp; Okay, well, that\u2019s not the silly thing.&nbsp; It was ready to create an avalanche and send books and papers everywhere.&nbsp; So, I went through each piece of paper and discarded some and filed others.&nbsp; When I [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":3883,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3880","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-articles","post-wrapper","thrv_wrapper"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.3.1 -
